end cap

The Allan Jones Foundation has traditionally maintained a strong “giving” presence in the areas of education, youth, sport of wrestling, history and trees.

Its primary focus, as regard to trees, is that trees are to be used only for shading city streets, sidewalks, schoolyards and parks. Trees located in tree yards (the area beside streets) and trees designed to shade sidewalks are given priority. The Foundation is not interested in planting shrubs or flowers.

In addition to the previous requirements, the following information is to be provided for any grant request:

  1. Goal of tree plantings (shading city streets sidewalks, school yards and/or parks)
  2. Exact locations of plantings
  3. Types of trees requested (if specified)
  4. Number of trees requested

Other Principal Categories and Related Policies include:

Social Betterment:
Contributions made to united funds in communities where Allan Jones has a major presence, where his companies recruit or where there is an area of special interest. However, consideration may be given, on an individual basis, to local agencies. These contributions, however, are only made to well-established organizations that receive no support from the local united funds.

Education:
Contributions made to accredited schools where Allan Jones has a major presence, where his companies recruit, or where there is an area of special interest.

Health:
Contributions made to support hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers and other health-related organizations, where Allan Jones has a presence, where his companies recruit or where there is an area of special interest. Contributions are restricted to building programs, equipment additions or research programs.

Cultural/Civic/Religious:
Contributions made to organizations engaged in the arts, museums, zoos, libraries and other cultural endeavors that have broad community support.  Support may be given to civic organizations whose work improves the quality of life in local communities where Allan Jones has a presence, where his companies recruit, or where there is an area of special interest. The Foundation will not generally support strictly sectarian or denominational religious activities, secondary schools, fraternal organizations, or individual projects that do not affect a broad segment of the community.
